What a great month we had in August! Seven new members joined, and another three indicated that they would like to learn more! We are planning to hold an induction ceremony on September 26th at a time and place to be announced.

Our mission at the Exchange Club of Las Vegas is to drive positive change by promoting Empathy, Collaboration, and Support within our community, focusing on the National Exchange Club’s four areas of impact.

Our first initiative under the Community Service Banner is establishing a Key Partnership cooperative with local non-profits.  This comprehensive approach addresses our community’s immediate needs (shelter, food, and transportation) and long-term solutions (case management, mental health support, substance abuse prevention, job training, and housing assistance).

Please welcome our new members, Pastor Kim Henderson, Dr. Brenda Braam, Victoria Provenza, Jeffrey Marsh, Andrea Brice, DeBorah A. Little, and Dr. Marivelle Nunez-Rucker.
Pastor Kim is introduced below and the others will be spotlighted in the near future. We continue to get inquiries from potential members, so we’re on track to have an outstanding recruiting year. If you are aware of others in the Vegas Valley who would like to join us, please spread the word of Exchange!

New Excel Club in Fontana

fontana Excel ClubCongratulations to our District sister Exchange Club of Fontana for booting up a brand new Excel Club at Summit High School. Vanessa Antekeir and Vicky Garcia hosted a welcome table at the recent Back to School Night. The event drew considerable interest, with numerous students signing up on the spot. The Club will continue its recruiting efforts at the annual ‘Club Rush’ event coming up soon.

Kim Henderson and “Because We Care Las Vegas”

Kim HendersonWe welcome Pastor Kim Henderson to the Exchange Club of Las Vegas as a dedicated community leader and the driving force behind the “Because We Care Las Vegas” initiative. Her work focuses on providing essential support and resources to those in need, particularly the homeless and less fortunate.

“Because We Care Las Vegas” is an extension of Kim’s broader ministry, “Setting The Captives Free.” This initiative aims to address the immediate needs of the community by offering
food, clothing, and other vital resources. The organization operates with a deep sense of compassion and a commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those it serves.
The organization runs several key programs including Food Distribution, Homeless Outreach, Women’s Refresher, and Evangelism and Spiritual Support.

Kim’s work has been instrumental in fostering a sense of community and support here in Las Vegas. By addressing both the physical and spiritual needs of individuals, the organization
helps to restore hope and dignity to those who are often overlooked. We are so fortunate to have her part of our club.

Kim’s unwavering dedication and the impactful work of “Because We Care” serve as a powerful reminder of the difference that one person can make in the lives of many. Her website may be found at https://becausewecarelasvegas.org/ .
